I/O Linc - INSTEON Door / Window Sensor Kit enhances your INSTEON network by alerting you when a door or window has been opened. The magnetic sensor triggers I/O Linc when a door or window is opened to turn on any INSTEON-controlled lights or appliances; and when a door or window is closed, lights and appliances are turned off (or vice-versa). You can have a

How it Works
The included magnet and sensor monitor whether or not something has been opened. The sensor triggers the included
I/O Linc - INSTEON Low Voltage / Contact Closure Interface (1 In / 1 Out) when the magnet moves further than an inch away, such as when a door or window is opened. Link I/O Linc to a remote
INSTEON device which can act as an indicator of door/window status, for example. In addition, when a door or window is opened or closed, I/O Linc can turn on lights, set the
Thermostat to a specific comfort setting, or trigger a custom event in
SmartLinc Central Controller.
Required Accessory
- Pocket Style Precision Screwdriver with 1.5mm Slotted Flathead Tip which is small enough to fit I/O Linc’s screw terminals
The magnet and sensor contacts can be applied to almost any surface using the supplied self-adhesive tape, or can be they can be screwed down.
The contacts are considered "normally closed", which means that the door, window, drawer, jewelry box or other item will be closed when the magnet and sensor are together. When the contacts are separated (i.e. when you open a door or window) a trigger is then sent to your I/O Linc as notification of a status change.
Receive Telephone Notification
Enhance I/O Linc - INSTEON Door / Window Sensor Kit and your INSTEON network by using it with a I/O Linc - INSTEON Telephone Alert Kit. The Telephone Alert Kit incorporates a phone dialer along with an I/O Linc to immediately notify you and/or neighbors and loved ones via telephone and/or cell phone when a door or window has been opened. By linking these kits together you can trigger a phone call to be placed if unexpected movement or an unauthorized opening or closing of a door or window takes place. The phone dialer uses your existing phone line to dial out and requires no monthly monitoring or service fee to operate. Now whether you are at the office, at the store, or on vacation, you can be immediately notified when there is a concern.
